This classic four-day traverse begins on the Senaru rainforest trail (600 m), climbs to the panoramic Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m), descends into the caldera to the turquoise Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m) and its natural hot springs, then continues across to the Sembalun Crater Rim (2,620–2,639 m) for a comfortable summit launch. The final day makes an early push to the Summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m) before descending out via Sembalun. This slower, 4-day pacing spreads the effort, gives ample time at the lake/hot springs, and is a well-documented route used by established outfitters.
