Mount Semeru (Indonesian: Gunung Semeru), is an active Volcano in East Java, Indonesia. It is located in the subduction zone, where the Indo-Australia plate subducts under the Eurasia plate.
It is the highest mountain on the island of Java. This stratovolcano is also known as Mahameru, meaning “The Great Mountain” in Sanskrit. The name is derived from the Hindu cosmology’s mountain of Meru or Sumeru, the abode of gods.

TREKKING TOUR ITINERARY:
DAY I : Surabaya / Malang – Ranu Kumbolo ( L / D )
Pick up at the airport/station in Malang City, go to the village of Ranu Pani in Lumajang by taking a jeep from Cemoro Lawang Probolinggo or Overlap Malang, preparing for licensing arrangements to Ranu Kumbolo which takes approximately 5 hours drive.
Arriving at Ranu Kumbolo setting up a tent and preparing food night by our team, you can explore the beauty of Lake Ranu Kumbolo until it comes to rest.
DAY II : Ranu Kumbolo – Kalimati / Arcopodo (B/L/D)
In the morning you can enjoy the natural beauty that is around Ranu Kumbolodan after breakfast, preparation for leaving for Kalimati is taken for 4-5 hours then rest and set up a tent for the night.
DAY III : Mahameru Peak – Ranu Pane – Malang / Surabaya (B)
At 01.00 in the morning, the climb to the top of Mahameru begins by bringing the necessary equipment with the body condition must be fit, to climb Mahameru peak which is the highest peak on the island of Java we will take 3-5 hours of hike.
After enjoying the beauty at the peak of Semeru back to Camp at Arcopodo / Kalimati for breakfast and preparation for returning to Ranu Pani Village with rest at Ranu Kumbolo. The journey takes approximately 9 hours.
Arriving at Ranu Pani then proceed with a Jeep vehicle heading back to Malang / Surabaya to the agreed place.
